Why is my shower hose not working?

If the shower hose is blocked, this can cause the pressure to increase. If you are getting no water at all or it stops when you are showering the problem might be the solenoid valve. This valve is operated by the solenoid coil. When the coil breaks, the valve will not open and allow water into the shower.

Why is a shower valve called a screwdriver stop?

Hence the reason they are sometimes called screwdriver stops. They are pretty manual. Using a screwdriver to turn the stop interrupts the flow of water to the valve. You have one stop on the cold side and one on the hot side. The supply stop will stop turning when it is fully closed, and will remain water-tight.
