Why does my Delta shower valve shut off sideways?

Why does my Delta shower valve shut off sideways?

They will shut off if installed sideways. Reason I know is the stainless plate on the cartridge can be twisted 1/4 turn from the stem portion. The plate should lay horizontal but I’ve seen a few lately come with it in the vertical.

Is it OK to change the tap washer in a cold shower?

I also changed the tap washer in the cold shower tap and the pressure is fine so it’s just the hot water. I used soft-close brass tap washer and also changed the O-ring and body washer. Prior to changing the washer the pressure was fine.

Why is my shower pipe hammering when I turn it on?

Everything went well, until I turned it on, now the shower pipe is hammering. The tub pipe is fine, no hammering at all. Any ideal as to why this would happen? I replace the one in the master bath and had no issues at all (I think I used delta brand for that one).

What could cause water hammer after changing a valve?

My understanding is that the cause of the hammering is an increase in water pressure in the pipe. The only thing that changed was the new cartridge. Could the after market one be the cause?

When do you need to replace a shower valve?

If your shower valve is damaged beyond repair, you may need to replace it to prevent leaks. Removing your old valve and installing a new one can take time, but with patience, a novice handyman can do it without the help of a plumber. As you replace your shower valve, work carefully to make sure you don’t forget any important details.

What should I do if my shower valve is making noise?

The solution is to turn off the water to the bathroom, disassemble the faucet and replace the worn rubber parts on the cartridge or valve stem. If you have a noisy ball-valve or disk faucet, you’ll probably find worn gaskets inside the water inlets.

Why does water come out of my shower when I Turn Off the shower?

Whenever the diverter valve does not close all the way, regardless of the reason, the pressure pushing water to the shower head will be weakened and water will come out both the faucet and the shower head. The valve assembly can be easily taken apart and cleaned. Pry the cap off the top of the faucet handle and loosen the screw.

How does a three valve shower head work?

A three-valve shower has three different handles that you turn to open or close the valves. One handle opens the hot water valve, one opens the cold water valve, and the third (generally in the middle of the temperature valves) diverts the water into the spigot or up to the shower head.
