Is the Bosch AquaStar 125B ng the same as the original?
Is the Bosch AquaStar 125B ng the same as the original?
Our Aquastar 125B NG is older, manufactured prior to the Bosch purchase of the name, and though everything looks the same I do not know what design changes Bosch has made. It was already installed in our house when we bought it, so I have no information about the savings relative to a traditional tank water heater.
Why do I need a new Bosch 125B ng heater?
Since 2 gpm shower heads are standard nowadays, it shouldn’t be a problem. The only reason I needed a new 125B NG natural gas model was because I switched my house from propane to natural gas and the heaters can’t be converted like a stove or furnace.
What happens to my Bosch AquaStar in the winter?
I’ve found that in the winter time my Aquastar is extremely sensitive to variations in water flow unless I crank the gas knob all the way to the right on the front of the unit. This means it’s basically “off” or “on”, i.e., luke warm or scalding hot.
How big of flue do I need for Bosch 125B?
Also, on-demand heaters require at least a five inch flue. The three inch flue used with tank water heaters is not sufficient. The 125B is not an appropriate model for warm input water, such as that from solar hot water panels.

Why is the pilot light on my water heater not working?
After cleaning, make sure you check on the thermocouple’s position. Also, check if it’s slightly bent. The thermocouple needs to be near the pilot light for it to receive heat and open the gas valve. If it’s too far away, heat will not be received and, therefore, an electric current will not be produced.

Can a Bosch 125B be used with two shower heads?
The 125B is not intended for two hot water uses at once. For that get a bigger model or install two. The 125B probably also works best with low flow shower heads, at least in places with cold water, because the hot water flow can be fairly slow when the incoming water is quite cold.
