How does recirculation work in a navien burner?

How does recirculation work in a navien burner?

For recirculation Navien is not clear as to the use of parameters. There is always an interval between when water is called for and the start of the burner. During this delay gases are blown out of the exhaust and cold-water flows through the burner unheated leading later to a cold-water sandwich.

What does the hot button do on navien?

Meaning if a ‘schedule’ is active, pressing/activating the hot button will turn that off. Seems like a split brain issue that Navien works around by simply disabling competing functions. [UPDATE: This post is pretty active w/ comments, so thank you.

Why is my navien water heater not recirculating?

There is not a workaround if you have the schedule enabled; disabling it does not initiate a re-circulation. If the hot button is not engaged, or a schedule is not specified and enabled in the app then the water heater simply will not re-circulate.

What is the default recirculation schedule for navien npe-240a?

Default recirculation schedule is every 30 minutes if a 9F degree drop is sensed. Recirculation is basically just keeping the hot water in the plumbing hot so you get hot water faster. Adding a “Hot button” overrides schedulers (navilink or NR-20DU).

Is the navien heat box connected to the tap?

While the tap is off, the Heat Box calls for water again and the Navien kicks back in. -Turn Domestic water on again (after 15 second in line above) and the Navien does supply Hot water to the domestic tap just fine.

How long does it take for navien shower to warm up?

When we shower, it often starts out moderately warm (not hot) for about 2-3 minutes then goes cold. I have to turn off the hot water service and wait 10 seconds or so then turn back on, after 20 seconds it gets hot again. My assumption is something (like the flow sensor suggestion from Navien help) is not triggering the domestic heating setting.

What to do if your navien water heater is not working?

For any other strange, unusual or potentially dangerous, you’d better shut water heater off, then call for help from the technical support. The Navien tankless water heater comes with a remote to keep track of what is going on with your heater and display the error code.

What should inlet temp be on navien nr-240a?

It’s looking for an inlet water temp of about 50* to be heated to 125*. That’s how it’s designed. Its modulation is there to mach varying gpm, not varying inlet temp (for the most part). The heat box is returning warm water to the inlet of the tankless which is something it doesn’t want; it wants cold water.
