How does InSinkErator hot water work?
How does InSinkErator hot water work?
The way the InSinkErator® instant hot water system works is really quite simple. The tank mounts under the sink and keeps 2/3 gallons of water at near-boiling temperatures at all times. As hot water is used from the faucet, it’s replaced in the tank by cool water, which is quickly heated.
What is a open vented faucet?
For a conventional household water heater, the faucet valve is placed after the heater tank resulting in a pressurized tank. For a hot water dispenser, the faucet valve is placed before the tank, creating an “open vent” style faucet and consequently no pressure is built up inside the tank.
How do you install an instant hot water dispenser?
To install an instant hot water dispenser, you begin by mounting the water tank vertically underneath the sink. Next, you position the new spout on the sink with the corresponding water line connected to the tank.
How does an InSinkErator instant hot water dispenser work?
This is the inside of an Insinkerator SST-FLTR instant hot water dispenser. The dispenser feeds depressurized water into the left nozzle, and the tank pushes hot water up the center nozzle. A third 1/8″ tube runs from the dispenser to the nozzle circled on the right, but I can’t figure out what that tube does.
How does hot water come out of the dispenser?
This forces hot water out the center outlet. When you release the valve, the hot water in the line between the dispenser and tank gravity feeds back down and fills the expansion tank through the gray tube.
Can you use a plumbed in hot water dispenser?
If you don’t want a hot water dispenser with a built-in tank, you can choose a plumbed in instant hot water dispenser instead. What this means essentially is that the fixture is connected to the main water line.
