Is the ActewAGL gas meter a good idea?
There is no transparency on the meter accuracy. This is a terrible experience. Basically I was forced to pay an excessively high bill which is clearly problematic. I definitely don’t recommend ActewAGL. Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au ! Was offered 20% off my electricity and gas in may 2019, i never got that discount.

Have been with Actew AGL for many years after being offered the promo of % off usage for electricity and gas.
When to notify ActewAGL when you vacate your property?
My other concern is that ActewAGL requires you to notify them a couple days before you vacate the property and disconnect your connection so they can send a meter reader over to your property for a final meter read. I wonder why this did not take place when previous energy account holders terminated their connection during this period.

What to do if your bill is wrong with ActewAGL?
If you have an estimated bill it is not hard to walk out to the meter, see how wrong it is and call up and state as much. You can then insist they come and do a reading. If the reading is lower they will charge you for that reading, hence why you should 100% go out and check before calling.

Is the ACT Government partly owned by ActewAGL?
Furthermore, as ActewAGL is partly owned by the ACT Government, which receives a dividend from it, I suggest the ACT Government should take some responsibility to ensure that concerns from residents are brought to the attention of the board of the joint venture. What’s Your Opinion?
